Are you based in the UK or some other country where those first two sites are banned? What happens if you type/paste those two URLs into a browser? Do you get the RSS feed back or some tosh about the sites being blocked?

That's a good question and one I wish I knew the answer to. When I, unsuccessfully, tried with my TV tuner, the drivers were already part of the kernel so I didn't have to worry about that. As I mentioned in the other thread tho I gave up before I got it working
