I ordered mine yesterday 17/05/2012 and I can't wait to start tinkering with it. Not had a project since my server build and I need a fix.

Hi and welcome. That sounds like a bit of a beast, however, I do not wish to be too critical, but there is very little point in installing a BluRay burner as BluRay is not supported in Linux, unless thing's have changed, same applies to Apple computers, the only way round it is to install some flavo...

Whilst on the subject, does anyone else feel slightly uneasy about putting "personal" stuff up on the cloud?
I do to certain extent, I would never put things like bank account details or family photos in the cloud, a few spread sheets should be ok though.

Erm it's a cloud drive by Google, erm Google it to find out more.

I mucked around with FreeNAS a couple of years ago and I think you problem is that FreeNAS prefers UFS ( Unix File System ) and it may not want to play nicely with the Linux ext file system. Have you tried mounting your file systems in Ubuntu as NFS shares?, I am not a big fan of NFS, don't ask why ...
