Re: The "introduce yourself" thread
Hi and welcome. That sounds like a bit of a beast, however, I do not wish to be too critical, but there is very little point in installing a BluRay burner as BluRay is not supported in Linux, unless thing's have changed, same applies to Apple computers, the only way round it is to install some flavo...

Re: Google Drive
I do to certain extent, I would never put things like bank account details or family photos in the cloud, a few spread sheets should be ok though.Whilst on the subject, does anyone else feel slightly uneasy about putting "personal" stuff up on the cloud?

Re: Network Bragging.....
Total sh*te compared to yours :!: I have worked on networks in Army Barracks that do not have a backbone like that. In one particular barracks there is 5 blocks linked by a cable, it must be getting on for 500 metre's with switches connected to AP's and they wondered why the 2 blocks right at the en...

Re: Raspberry Pi
I wonder if this OpenELEC is capable of digital music output through the USB port, to an external DAC, like regular desktop Linux does. That would be a killer feature. May it would worth while asking this question over at http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/ There is some very talented people over th...

Re: FreeNAS vm on Ubuntu Server
I mucked around with FreeNAS a couple of years ago and I think you problem is that FreeNAS prefers UFS ( Unix File System ) and it may not want to play nicely with the Linux ext file system. Have you tried mounting your file systems in Ubuntu as NFS shares?, I am not a big fan of NFS, don't ask why ...
