First off, I've really enjoyed the web site. It seems I've found a kindred spirit with the documenting of the media server build. It's really interesting to see the similar path you took on your build and the differences. One thing I have definitely picked up from this site is the use of virtual machines, which I had totally disregarded up until this time. I was able to get KVM up and going with both Linux and Windows virtual installs but was wondering what you were using as a thin client on the computers around your house. If you could elaborate a little more on how you have the remote computers setup it would be very much appreciated! Right now I have several other computers connected to my central server and was thinking it might be more efficient to have them act as thin clients instead of independent machines.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Dave

Re: Thin Clients
Hi there Dave,
Nice write-up. I've not done a lot with setting up any thin clients as yet. I do have plenty of plans tho. One thing I've been thinking of doing is having a terminal in the kitchen so the wife can add to her grocery shopping as she goes along. I'd probably use something like an Asus eee box or somesuch as the client. Perhaps screens dotted around so I can monitor my CCTV cameras? Another thing that I think has a lot of potential is touchscreen technology so will look into doing something there (panels in each room to select music perhaps?). So many possibilities, so little time
Ian.
