things that come to mind that i have no clue about include vpn's, port forwarding and what the hell is ftp.
i know that vpn's can be secure and i have no clue how to handle any bit of port forwarding but i know there's websites out there that'll walk me through it
all i really wanna do is basically connect to my server from work or while i'm out and about and be able to download content from it in the most secure fashion possible.
i know it's probably excruciatingly simple but a few fingers pointing me in the right direction would be pretty rad.
even if one of those fingers points me back to the actual site that this forum is for with a link to the page listing what i apparently may have skipped over
