Using KVM to manage media files/torrents

Post by jonathan »

I've been using a variation of the setup outlined on this site successfully for about a year now. Thanks for the great tutorial!

My goal here is fairly simple (I think); I just need a little direction. I currently use XBMC on Ubuntu 10.04 to play all my movies/music/etc. I want to set up a KVM that I can log in to to manage my files without disrupting my XBMC session. That is, I want to be watching a movie on my TV, powered by XBMC on my HTPC and login with VNC to a KVM on the HTPC to start a new torrent, rename files, etc. while continuing to watch my movie in full screen.

Seems simple enough, and I have KVM setup with an Ubuntu 11.10 install running. I just can’t seem to get the KVM to see the partition on the host where my media files are. Thoughts?
