First time linux user. (Flame suit on)

Post by jsmith »

Hi guys, how are you all?

I've done some searching (I'm sure there will be a thread I've missed) but can't figure out how I should set up the config file in snapraid (Ubuntu Server 12.04 no gui)

The 4 drives I want to use for snap raid are the same size and type, I was wondering how I identify the disks in the config?

Hi there and welcome to the forums

In the snapraid config file you identify the drives by their Ubuntu "mount points". So, if you've mounted one of your drives as "/media/drive1" then you'd put the following in the config file:

Code: Select all

disk d1/media/drive1/
Hope this helps,

Ian.

Cool, I haven't mounted the drives yet, I suppose that might help lol.

Thanks a lot Ian
