Access denied from a W7 Machine (solved)

Post by J_Squared »

Hi guys,

New to the forum, very new to Linux and having a problem.

I've followed the guide step by step and it's served me well :-) Managed to set up a user, make a directory etc etc but if I try to create a file or move a file to that director on a W7, I just get an error.

As it is I have to use the Run command to even get to the share in the first place as the Network Centre isn't picking up.

Anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've followed the instructions and it should work, but this is windows :-( or may be it's me!

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks
John

What specific page of the guide and specific step on that page are you trying? What is the error that you're getting?

Hi ricksebak,

Thanks for coming back to me. A little rest and starting a fresh seems to have cured the issue. I think I must have missed a step on the Shares and Users section :-( but I got it working last night, so progress has been made :-)
