Re: VM Media Streaming
Just wanted to follow up on this. I borrowed an old B/G linksys router from my dad a few weeks back to test a separate local wifi network, see if that resolved the issue (after rebuilding the box again because I had tinkered to much on it) I have Media Tomb, MiniDLNA and PS3MediaServer all on my tes...

Re: Connecting with VNC
Hi there, I would've said this was an issue with the contents of the vnc config file but obviously it wasn't. Strange. Anyway, glad you got it sorted. Ian. Yeah, I went through that a few times, like I said it's happened on previous builds, but only happened the first time, and resolved itself... v...

Re: Connecting with VNC
Okay, well, still not sure what caused this. Just sudo apt-get remove both vnc4server and gnome-core
reinstalled both.. kept all the settings and my auto start script still worked... and now it is working fine... very strange, but it worked.. so that's all that matters right?

Connecting with VNC
Okay, well I have done this a few times following your guide, and I decided it was time for a clean wipe and fresh server build, and start my tinkering on virtual machines... since I couldn't get things working right... I have the machine built, gnome, vnc, webmin all installed on the machine. Stati...

Re: VM Media Streaming
after digging, it might all be withing my router... seems like I need to dig into specific settings/configs for it... as there was a suggestion I saw out there for one model older then I have... and that setting just is not there on mine.. Think at this point this is not a linux issue.. go figure ab...

Re: VM Media Streaming
Okay, think I have figured out where the issue is.. but no idea how to resolve it... I have attempted to install ps3 media on both virtual and the main box. The Virtual box only seemed to see my windows 7 pc, and one unknown rendered.. (i believe my DVR) Just installed on my main box, and neither th...

Re: Mounting/linking Automatically
for reference the code I am currently using is sudo smbmount //192.168.1.200/sdb1/Movies /mnt/media/movies -o user=username for all of my sub folders of media on my ntfs samba drive, which is Movies, Music and Photos. I don't just want a blank mount of the drive, as I use it for system and file back...

Mounting/linking Automatically
Okay, so I have a Samba file share as my storage media drive is NTFS. It mounts and loads automatically on my main box, no issues there, and is open for my network... my issue is I have to manually add the links every time I reboot one of my virtual machines.... Any ideas, figure a script could just...

Re: VM Media Streaming
Okay, got my TV and PS3 into my router... still can't seem to see either device listed on the media server... more digging and poking.. it shows two render's available unknown and WMP, and the only device that appears to connect is my win 7 pc..
